The purpose of this page is to provide a list of training videos to understand and begin to use MinistryPlatform (MP). MinistryPlatform is a browser-based application that allows you to manage people, events, groups, donations and many other aspects of ministry. This core application is the central application used at Rocky Mountain Calvary for ministry management. It is important to understand the basic features of MP as a staff member in order to carry out some of your daily tasks. Some staff will only use MP for basic things like looking up a contact’s information or requesting time off. Other staff may need to know how to process volunteer applications, enter counseling notes or request rooms, services or equipment for an event. In addition to the required videos, please watch the videos that correspond with your job responsiblities. If you are unsure of which videos to view, please see Dan Hooker or Matt Patterson.

Required Videos
This section includes required training for all staff. These videos are a prerequisite before watching the custom training and recommended videos in the sections below.
MinistryPlatform Basics – Teaches some of the basic features of MinistryPlatform.
Add/Edit Family Tool – This tool is used to change ANY person’s contact information. This tool is to be used rather than editing the contact record directly.
Searching Data in MP – Searching is one of the most common and powerful tasks in MinistryPlatform.
Time Off Training – This video describes how to create a new time off request for sick, vacation, training or any other work outage.
Custom Training Videos
This section includes training for using specific pages and features of MinistryPlatform (MP) that have been customized specifically for RMC.
Processing Volunteer Applications (Full Training) – This video is intended for all new staff and assumes the user has not yet received any training for processing volunteer applications.
Processing Volunteer Applications (Refresher Training) – This video is intended for those who are familiar with the volunteer application process but need some refresher training. New staff members should watch the “Full Training” version of this video above.
Recommended Videos (Required for Ministry Leaders Overseeing Volunteers)
This section includes training for using features that are helpful in managing and communicating with groups of people.
Working with Email Messages – How to use MP to created and send messages to a single person or multiple people. MP can be very powerful in that it can send customized messages using templates to many people (up to several thousand).
Adding People to Groups – This is an optional training video. This video is for ministry leaders that manage groups of people (volunteers, lay leaders, classes, small groups, etc.)
